MARCH – 2008
Welcome to March’s edition of “On the Center Line” a monthly newsletter for members and friends of Glass-Ed. We hope you enjoy keeping up with the activity of your board and your thoughts and ideas are always welcome. Just call or email one of us.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 13 and join your friends at Equine Line in Plainwell for a clinic with Sue Hughes. Sue is the USDF Region 2 Director, a USEF ‘r’ judge in dressage and eventing, a Level III Centered Riding Instructor and a Certified Horsemanship Association Clinic Instructor. A Center Riding lecture will be offered to all attendees and a 30 minute lesson with Sue is $15.00 for members and $50 for non-members. Auditing for members is FREE and non-member fee is $25. We are happy to report that all ride times have been filled, but if you wish to be put on a wait list, contact Pam DeHaan. If you haven’t already, sign up for your 2008 membership and take advantage of this terrific opportunity sponsored by GED. You will have the opportunity to join Glass-Ed at the clinic.
We are also mulling around the idea of a second clinic during 2008, so keep ideas coming.
The Lansing Horse Expo and Kalamazoo Tack Sale were great successes. Many members who have renewed for 2008 picked up their Omnibus during these events. There’s a continued interest in dressage and we gained several new members. If you are a member and have not picked up your Omnibus, it will be mailed to you.
Please read through your 2008 Omnibus. Every year there are some changes in rules and classes offered. Your board is continually working to make this organization the best it can be for members and show hosts. Check out the new pas de deux and quadrille classes.
I’ve just learned of a new website with terrific streaming videos of both dressage and hunter/jumper classes. It’s called sporthorse.tv and best of all it’s free. Check out the video on the mechanical dressage horse. I know I could use one of these!
Looking out my window at all the snow we received in Michigan yesterday I find it hard to believe we’re just month’s away from the beginning of the show season. It’s creeping up on us quickly. The April clinic will be a great way to learn new ways to fine tune your schooling and improve your scores. Looking forward to seeing all of you April 13th.
